Reflection & The Year Ahead

Good morning friends! I (Katie) am still 100% here, I come to you in apology that I 100% fell off the wagon and completely neglected this blog last summer and fall. Holy cow, it was a whirlwind!

If I can be completely honest with you, one reason that I haven't come to you each week with my words and thoughts is that I have just felt a complete loss for what to say. I am the type of person that when I get overwhelmed I can completely shut down and ignore things I shouldn't. I tend to only focus on the "fire" and not the other important details.

I am sitting here writing this with my coffee on Sunday morning, it is dark and rainy and the boys are still sound asleep and I finally feel like I can write again.

2018 was just a tad bit of a challenging year, mostly for the obvious that it rained constantly but there were some other major issues that popped up as well and I came out of the season feeling completely deflated. Like someone had stuck a pin in me and let all the air out. Then we were right into the holidays, needless to say it has taken me most of January and February to put my mind back where it needs to be with lots of reflection and planning for this year.

Let me back up a minute and state that the year wasn't a bust by any means! There were tons of positives that came out of it. We were able to provide some gorgeous blooms for several weddings, the brides were completely AMAZING to work with. We were able to fill every order that came across our door. We learned valuable lessons in what works and what doesn't work for a myriad of things. I have my own little shop to work out of, it is still a work in progress but I'm not dragging everything in the house anymore AND we have (or should I say Clint) installed a cooler. It is so completely amazing! It not only serves to keep the flowers cool in the summer but we have been able to regulate the temperature and have our dahlias overwintered there as well.

Reflecting back, this verse recaps the year quite well. "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace by those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12:11

With that recap, I have a couple of updates for you....

Our summer bouquet subscriptions are on sale, I am only selling 12 per month for July, August and September so if you are thinking of ordering check out our website soon or message me with any questions.

We also have some exciting news coming in the next month or two but are still working out the final details for the website. Stay tuned.

Spring is around the corner and will be bringing those gorgeous spring flowers which are honestly my favorites of the entire year!

And finally I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support last year, thank you for taking the time to read my blog, Instagram and Facebook posts. Most of all THANK YOU for supporting a local business and fresh seasonal flowers!

Life is good :-)

-Katie
