Promises
I stepped over the cliff yesterday. I was absolutely amazed at the outpouring of love, well wishes and interest in our farming adventure. We have so many dreams and goals for our farm and our flowers. I have to remind myself to slow down and that it is not going to happen in a single season (probably not even five growing seasons).
This year we will be growing over 30 varieties of foliage and flowers. Next year I hope to double that as well as our growing space. Many of these varieties will be new to me. Thank you for coming along side me in this journey as I open myself up to you. This year you will see the good and the bad. My promise to you is to be open through it all. I absolutely love giving the gift of flowers and am excited to be able to help you give that gift as well in a local and sustainably grown manner without the use of pesticides and chemicals.
My goals for our farm this year are to not only bring blooms to you through our bouquet share and individual orders but also to have our bouquets for sale in the community. I hope to bring some local florists on board in using our locally grown blooms and step away from flowers that are shipped in internationally. I also would like to have "ladies nights" at the farm where you and a friend can come with a bottle of wine and arrange your own centerpiece. In August I will be taking a farmer/florist master workshop at a flower farm just outside of D.C. Friends you have NO idea how excited I am for this. Can we just say weddings!! Next year our main goal for the farm is to have a cooler, expand our growing area and offer wedding services.
Stay tuned for this and a lot more goodness to come.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
